Safely navigating shallow shipping channels requires an accurate monitoring of the vessels draft and the ever changing sea conditions. An RTK-Net infrastructure provides real-time, precise positioning data to pilots that can be used to more accurately determine the clearance from the ships keel to the bottom of the shipping channel (under keel clearance).

By combining RTK positioning with RTK water levels, this expands the window of opportunity for deep draft vessels to enter and exit the port and minimizes dredging costs while maintaining required safety margins.
