DrillNav Plus

A robust, easy to use ballast hole navigation system providing you with instant feedback on drilling as well as production performance measurements.

Operating a drill productively on a mine site requires accuracy in navigating around the pattern and in drilling to a specified elevation. You need to know at a glance where the drill is located so you can get the job done efficiently with fewer delays and reduced ore losses by over drilling.

Mines can design drill patterns in the office and download them to the drill or the operator can layout standard patterns on board the drill. The operator can see where each hole should be drilled and the location of the previously drilled holes. The bit depth can also be displayed relative to a specified elevation rather than to a depth below current ground level.

Advantages:

  • Real-time operator feedback.
  • Accurate vital measurements (drilling penetration rate, distance drilled, tramming time, production time, drilling and non-drilling time etc).
  • Advanced GPS - 4cm horizontal and 6cm vertical accuracy.
  • Need for surveyors or drillers to stake pattern removed.
  • Delay detection, recording and analysis.
  • Easy to use system with clear LCD touch screen.
  • Data transmitted to office for analysis, reporting and decision making.
  • Radio telemetry integrates office with the machine in the field.
  • Reliable service and support.

Options:

  • GPS receiver capability: Access to GLONASS in deep pit mines.
  • Pipe in hole protection system: Stop drills from tramming if the pipe is still within the drilled hole.
  • Preset depth: Pull down pressure is removed once desired depth is reached.
